Started the career of a professional photographer in the Valaam Reserve Museum of History, Architecture and Nature (1985-1990). Co-founded and worked at the Karpovan sizarekset publishing house (1990-1993). Collaborated with the Petrozavodsk Drama Theatre (1992-1995).
Practiced active journalism in newspapers of Karelia (1997-2001).
Since 2002, employed at the Editing and Publishing Department of the Karelian Research Centre, Russian Academy of Science. Constant participant of projects for conservation of natural, historical and cultural heritage, and for tourism development in Northwest Russia (funded by TACIS, Nordic Council of Ministers, Russian Foundation for the Humanities, Directorate of Cultural Heritage (Norway), Finnish Ministry of the Environment).
Since 2006, cooperating with the Audi quattro Driving Craft School.
Materials regularly published in the journals “Sever”, «Karelia», “Itogi”, “Tourism and Recreation”, “Vzor”, “Off-road drive” and other editions. Illustrated books for the publishing houses “Karelia”, “Karpovan sizarekset”, “Paconi”, “Scandinavia”, “Petropress”, “Nauka”.
In Finland, the book “Valamon sinisen kukkan saari”, Tammi 1990, was published twice. Published materials in “Uusi-Suomi”, “Ilta Lehi”, “Helsingin Sanomat”, “Puuteknikka” in 1990-91, in Novye Rubezhi” in 2000-2002. In 1990-91, worked under contract with the publishing house Gummerus kustannus Oy on the project “Muisteet Karjalasta” in Northern Ladoga area and Karelian Isthmus, which were annexed to the USSR after 1939-45 wars.
Has participated in photo exhibitions since 1982. Prize-winner of the international photo festival “Man and the City”, Ekaterinburg, 2001.

In 2006, produced, together with the archaeologist Nadezhda Lobanova, the video film “White Sea Petroglyphs”, with Igor Poleshchuk as the cameraman. In June 2007, the film won the top award in the “best author’s work” nomination among 286 films from 20 countries at the film festival in Khanty-Mansiysk held within the international ecological action “Save and Preserve”.
Has worked with Canon equipment since 1986.
Consecutively used the following cameras: AE-1program, F-1, T-90, EOS-5, EOS-20D, EOS-5D. Optika 17-:-300 mm, 500mm Reflex.
